What You Need to Know About Flex ED’s Pod Program

Are you interested in having your child join an in-person pod in your geographical area to work on their Flex ED school work with a Certified Teacher? For the 2021/2022 school year, Flex Ed will be offering an in-person Pandemic Pod Program for small groups so that students can learn together in a contained and safe environment.

Socialization and activity is essential for children’s development and livelihood and, at a time when both are particularly limited, our Pandemic Pods give students a chance to resume a sense of normalcy while still protecting their comfort and safety.

Our post will be updated with more information about our Pandemic Pod Program as more information is available.

Flex ED’s Pandemic Pod Precautions

When you enroll your child in a Flex ED in-person pod, you can have peace of mind knowing that health and safety precautions will be put in place. These precautions are designed to help protect your child’s well being while also allowing them to work alongside their peers.

These are the primary precautions that Flex ED will put in place to encourage student and teacher safety:

1. Small Group Sizes

Each Flex ED Pandemic Pod will Include 5 Students and 1 teacher. Small group sizes will help students limit their exposure to others, while also allowing for more concentrated, personalized learning.

2. One Teacher Per Pandemic Pod

There will be a different teacher for each Pandemic Po to limit each group and teacher’s exposure. Each pod’s teacher will remain the same until the end of the 21/22 school year (end of June 2022).

3. Consistent Area Sanitization

To ensure health and hygiene, the Pandemic Pod’s area will be kept clean and sanitary. Effective sanitation will help keep Pods separate and well protected. Pod rooms will be sanitized before and after every session.

4. Mandatory Screenings Each Session

As a precautionary measure, Each Pandemic Pod member will be screened by the Certified Teacher at the beginning of their session.

5. All Saskatchewan Health Requirements will be Followed

We will follow all requirements as set out by Saskatchewan Health Officials and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education. The Flex ED Pandemic Pod program will be in accordance with our Return to School Plan 2021/2022 for our in-person school activities.
